10cm Soil

Post by Paul C » Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:37 am

The Met Office have now sent me a 10cm soil thermometer to add to my range of data I collect. I havent had one before and they a\re new out, no mercury now !!

Its been installed for a few weeks but the temperatures its been showing are a little odd. Its Often lower than the 30cm soil temp. I would have thought that it would have been higher especially on warm days.

Has anyone have any working knowledge, how its set up correctly and any pitfalls. Its clearly fragile and I fear our dog may be the first to stand on it

cheers

Have you got a pic of it?

Might need a replacement.

Reservoir!
No idea, the 10cm I had (the old type) just had a 90 degree bend which you put in the soil 10cm down with the
reading degrees lying flat on top of the soil. Really need to see it.
